Alfreda Virginia Leatherman

Alfreda Virginia Leatherman, age 67 of Lee St., Moorefield, WV passed away, Wednesday evening, April 5, 2006 in Petersburg, WV at the residence of her daughter. Born April 29, 1938 in Hardy Co., WV, she was the daughter of the late James W. & Alice P. (Whetzel) Helmick. She was a member of the Moorefield Church of the Brethren. Her husband, Frank L. Leatherman preceded her in death. A daughter, Brenda Helmick High, a sister, Betty F. Shirley and brothers Hayden L. Helmick, James V. Helmick and Junior Wayne Helmick also preceded her in death. Surviving is a son, Daniel Ray Helmick of Maysville, WV; a daughter, Rebecca Ann Stump of Petersburg, WV; a brother, Ray Helmick of Harrisonburg, VA; a sister, Thelma Ayers of Moorefield, WV and seven grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, April 9, 2006 at the Moorefield Church of the Brethren with Pastors Harold Garber & Joe Dunsmore officiating. At her request, Alfreda donated her body to the WV University Human Gift Registry. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
