Ada Kay Cleaver

Ada Kay Cleaver, 71, of Moorefield, WV, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 1, 2013. The daughter of the late Ralph Judy Bean and Carrie Rosetta (Muntzing) Bean, Ada Katherine Kate Bean was born in Cumberland, Maryland in 1942, and grew up in Moorefield. She was a graduate of Moorefield High School Class of 1960 and attended Potomac State College. She worked as a legal secretary at her familys law firm, Bean & Bean, for 19 years, and later founded Ada Kay Bonding, a local bail bondsman business which she operated until the time of her death. She was a member of the Duffey Memorial United Methodist Church, and an enthusiastic supporter of the Moorefield Lions Club, the Moorefield Library, and other civic organizations and charities. Ada Kay is survived by her daughter, Judge Carrie Webster (Greg) of Charleston, WV; son, Brent Webster (Kimberly) of Charleston; and daughter, Lisa Cole of Moorefield. She is also survived by her four brothers, Ralph Bean, Jr. (Barbara) of Bridgeport, WV, Dr. Howard Bean of Alexandria, VA, Oscar Bean (Dixie), and William Bean of Moorefield, WV, and her close first cousin, Allen Bean of Bristol, VA. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Aaron, Justin, Kyle and Katherine, and many special nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also left to cherish her memory is Julie Onanian Anderson, with whom she shared a special relationship and life-long bond. Ada Kay enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved good food, good books and the company of others. She also had a whimsical side she collected Betty Boop, miniature ceramic pigs, and other oddities which she displayed prominently throughout her house. Ada Kay spent most of her time with her two beloved canine companions, Trouble and Coco who received daily meals of hand fed chicken liver and other delicacies. The canine duo never left Ada Kays side - they played together, slumbered together and snored together. Ada Kay loved her dogs and would have never had it any other way. Ada Kay was beloved by many and never knew a stranger. She was honest, loyal, compassionate and kind. Her spirit of generosity was experienced by friends and strangers alike, as was her spirit of opinion, which she never hesitated to offer, particularly if she thought someone had been wronged or unfairly treated. Ada Kay will be deeply missed and perhaps best remembered for her contagious smile, love of laughter and entertaining sense of humor. Ada Kays life will be celebrated at a memorial service, 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Duffey Memorial United Methodist Church, 100 N. Elm Street, with Pastors Jay Parkins & Calvin McCutcheon officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street, Moorefield. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support in many heart-felt forms. The family is especially thankful for Dixie Bean, who provided Ada Kay and her children great comfort and support in her final days.
