Aaron Alexander Welton,

Aaron Alexander Welton, Jr., Bud, age 85 of Old Fields, WV, departed this life Monday afternoon, September 22, 2008 at the E.A. Hawse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Baker, WV. Born March 31, 1923 in Moorefield, WV, he was the son of the late Aaron A. Welton , Sr. & Eleanor B. (Fisher) Welton. A son, David preceded him in death. He attended Moorefield High School where he was a member of the band and the F.F.A. He was engaged in an extensive farming operation with his father in the Old Fields area. Later he managed the farm raising cattle, hogs and corn. He flew his own airplane, attaining a private pilots license; and during WWII he was a member of the Civil Air Patrol where he earned his wings. Surviving is his loving wife of 65 years, Rachael (Webley) Welton; a son, Aaron A. Sandy Welton, III, and wife Toni of Old Fields, WV; two daughters, Kathryn Welton-Davy and husband Allen of Old Fields, WV & Elizabeth Gray Mullin and husband Larry of Winchester, VA; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Welton of Old Fields, WV; a brother, John C. Jack Welton, Sr., of Moorefield, WV; two sisters, Eleanor Wise of Lexington, KY & Mary Wilkinson of Virginia Beach, VA; thirteen grandchildren, Scott Mullin and wife Cindy of Winchester, VA, Rebecca Mullin and husband Craig Sheets of Jacksonville, FL, Michael Mullin and wife Fay of Winchester, VA, Laura Sullivan and husband Jason of Martinsburg, WV, Lesley See and husband Delmas of Old Fields, WV, Sarah Welton of Old Fields, WV, Jessica Bogdin and husband Steven of Morgantown, WV, Amy Welton of Old Fields, WV, Aaron Welton, IV, and wife Ashley of Fisher, WV, Anne Davy of Old Fields, WV, Katie Welton, Alexander Welton & Ethan Welton all of Old Fields, WV and thirteen great-grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 25, 2008 at the Olivet Cemetery in Moorefield with Gary Comstock officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 9 PM Wednesday at the Fraley Funeral Chapel, 107 Washington Street. Memorials may be directed to the Charity of Choice.
